Schoolwork and Grading

While multiplayer class RPs are the preferred method of playing your role as a teacher, we understand that depending on the schedules of the enrolled students this may not always be an option. You may also wish to hand out the occaisional assignment in addition to class play, or possibly even in class. Length and format is completely up to you (essay, multiple choice, etc), though obviously tests should be longer than quizzes. Please keep in mind when choosing assignment formats you will be expected to return grades to all students who completed it. We suggest for essays going with the formula 1 paragraph Out Of Character = 1 scroll(page) In Character. So if Professor Snape assigns a 3 scroll essay, a player that writes 3 paragraphs has done the assignment. This keeps it from becoming burdensome for everyone.

It is not necessary to award house points for schoolwork, but should you desire to do so, see the House Points section.

Also, by nature of being a teacher students are allowed to make minor assumptions about the actions of your character. Ie that you held a class when it wasn't roleplayed through, that you have a homework assignment due tomorrow, etc. This is necessary since we can not roleplay through ever moment of our characters' lives.
