Overview

Background

Lucius is the head of the powerful and influential Malfoy family.  Father to Draco and husband of sorts to Narcissa, he was born with everything handed to him, and more dangerously is of a disposition to use it effectively.

The Malfoy name, like their wealth and ancient estate dates back through a long line of wizards, and Lucius was raised to believe that such privileges as the learning of magic should stay to those like himself, born to it.

Over the years since he became the head of the family, the proper expenditure of charm and Galleons have won him a position of the Hogwarts board of governors, and the trust of many wizards, not the least notable of which is Cornelius Fudge, head of the Ministry of Magic.

Today as in years past he takes an active interest in the affairs of the school, selecting "promising" students to coach along and provide financial support for, and keeping a close eye on the Headmaster whose views his own are not so in synch with.
