Overview

History

Gabriel is the oldest child in the family of the Christian minister for a church in the small England town of Freevale. His mother was a Hufflepuff alumni who settled down in the muggle world during the height of Voldemort's power, and chose to remain there afterwards.  She met her future husband through his brother Zechariah, who was a Gryffindor of her same year.

Gabriel was raised aware of the wizard world both through his father's family, several of which are wizards, and through his mother, but not really as a part of it.  He spent his entire life in Freevale, studying to eventually become a priest himself.  He had never really considered another path until a Hogwarts letter arrived.

He nearly declined the invitation, but in the end a curiousity to see a greater world won him over and he decided to go, despite the objections of his father.  Ever since then their relationship has been strained.   They still pay for his schooling, but his father's disappointment in his son's decision dampers their once close relationship.  Gabriel, is kind of boy who has always seen God's magic in everything, and that constant fascination with life is the basis of the desire to learn more about whatever he can, which sorted him easily into Ravenclaw. He remains undecided whether he wants to return to his original muggle goals after graduating Hogwarts, or join the wizarding world.
